Cooking Methods

Oven: 200°C for 45 - 55minutes

  • Place the chicken on a wire rack inside a baking tray (this allows heat to circulate underneath).
  • Roast for about 45 minutes. If you want extra color, you can crank the heat up to 220°C for the final 5 minutes—just watch it closely if the marinade has honey or sugar in it!

Airfry: 180°C for 35 - 45 minutes (Most crispy)

  • Place the chicken breast-side down in the basket first. This allows the juices to pool in the breast meat, keeping it moist. Roast for 20–25 minutes.
  • Flip the chicken breast-side up and cook for the remaining 15–20 minutes until the skin is golden brown and crisp.

Pro-Tips for the Perfect Spring Chicken:

  • Resting is non-negotiable: Once cooked, let the chicken rest loosely covered in foil for 10 minutes before carving. This lets the juices redistribute; if you cut it immediately, all that moisture will run out onto the board.
